Steps | |
1 | Navigate to https://www.synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/downloads/macos to download the latest version of the DisplayLink Manager software. |

Download the latest version of the DisplayLink Manager software by clicking on the “Download” button

On the next page, click the “Accept” button to download the installation package.
*Note* your download will begin automatically to your downloads folder |

Expand the Downloads folder from The Dock bar and open the DisplayLink Manager .pkg file that was just downloaded

From the DisplayLink installer window that opens, select “Continue” in the lower right-hand corner

On the next page, select “Continue”
And then “Agree” to accept the Software License Agreement

On the next screen, select the “Install” button to install update your DisplayLink Manager software

Before the installation begins, you will need to enter your password and select the “Install Software” button, then the installation will begin.
*Note* - During the installation, your external displays may temporarily go blank or flash. They will return once the installation has completed. |

Once DisplayLink manager has been updated, you may select the “Close” button
You will then have the option to keep or move the installer file to the trash by selecting either the “Keep” or “Move to Trash” buttons

To verify the DisplayLink Manager software has been updated, open the DisplayLink Manager app from the top menu bar by selecting the DisplayLink icon, then clicking on the “Settings” tab and confirming the version number at the bottom of the window.

DisplayLink version 1.11 contained a bug that has been fixed in DisplayLink MacOS version 1.12, released on Feb 28, 2025. While this bug is known to affect the MacBook M4 laptop while using a DisplayLink docking station, it is recommended you update DisplayLink on all MacBooks.
